GlobalX After School Care Program Lead

Department: Global Exchange Academy
Location: HONOLULU, HI

SALARY RANGE: $58,000 - $62,000 Annually

JOB SUMMARY

GlobalX After School Care Program Lead primarily oversees the supervision, coordination, and daily implementation of the GlobalX After School Care Program in the Preschool and Elementary School. This role ensures a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where children are supported socially, emotionally, and academically.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Program Duration: 12 months, including support to all GlobalX Programs.
  • Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (hours may vary depending on the needs of the program)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

After School Care (ASC)

  • Provide close supervision and maintain a safe student environment.
  • Supervise and delegate student dismissal/pick-up duties.
  • Oversee daily schedule assignments for GlobalX Supervisors and Volunteers.
  • Track daily student attendance to ensure accurate records are maintained by GlobalX Supervisors and Volunteers.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training activities for GlobalX Supervisors and Volunteers to ensure effective program delivery and student engagement.

Department of Human Services (DHS)

  • Serve as the primary liaison between GlobalX and the Department of Human Services (DHS), including direct communication, coordination, compliance monitoring, and licensure maintenance.
  • Assist in the hiring process of GlobalX Supervisors and Volunteers by tracking signed waivers, completion of reference checks and mandatory training. For GlobalX Supervisors, assist with scheduling Department of Human Services (DHS) fingerprinting appointments.
  • Plan the content of and execute supervisor and volunteer orientation.
  • Develop and implement ongoing supervisor training.
  • Coordinate ASC groups to ensure compliance with DHS enrollment requirements.
  • Record ASC attendance in the database and save daily records per DHS requirements.
  • Complete and process all DHS required documentation in a timely manner. This includes the biannual licensure renewal documentation.

Program Support (Summer, Extended Learning, Camps, International Day Camps)

  • In collaboration with the GlobalX Innovation and GlobalX Program Manager, coordinate administrative preparations in advance of program start dates to support smooth and organized program implementation.
  • Provide daily operational support for all GlobalX Programs to ensure organization, effective coordination, and execution of program details and logistics.

Regular and predictable attendance at work.

QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience working with children in an educational, recreational, or after-school program setting.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Ensure that equipment/supplies are properly maintained.
  • Maintain relevant knowledge of safety laws.
  • Mandatory reporting of sexual abuse to law enforcement or child protective services, and Human Resources. Sexual abuse includes child molestation, any actual or alleged illegal or otherwise wrongful sexual conduct with a minor, and serial sexual misconduct, any actual or alleged illegal or otherwise wrongful sexual conduct with more than one victim; and committed by or alleged to have been committed by any perpetrator who is not a student of an included entity.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, 12-month position that includes responsibilities during the summer and scheduled school breaks. This position requires 40-hour workweeks, Monday through Friday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. However, hours may vary depending on departmental needs, deadlines, or school events. Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Our campus consists of multiple buildings on 44 hilly acres that requires frequent walking including uphill and stairs. The individual is required to talk and hear, often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee may be required to stand, walk, lift and carry approximately 10-15 pounds, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. Requires close vision.

MENTAL DEMANDS

On a daily basis, must frequently problem solve, make decisions, interpret data, organize, speak, write, plan, and clearly communicate.

EQUIPMENT USE

Telephone, computer, iPad, Google Apps for Education, Blackbaud Education Edge Database – frequently. Copier, printers and other hardware – occasionally.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoor – frequently. Outdoor, Loud Noise, Cold and Hot Temperatures – occasionally.
