SALARY RANGE: $3,300 stipend paid one time at the end of each season
JOB SUMMARY:
The Head Golf Coach oversees all aspects of the golf program, including coaching, player development, team management, and administrative responsibilities. The coach will uphold the values and mission of the athletic department and Mid-Pacific, emphasizing student-athlete development, sportsmanship, and academic achievement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Program Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive golf program that aligns with Mid-Pacific’s athletic philosophy.
- Serve as a role model for student-athletes, promoting values of discipline, integrity, and teamwork.
- Communicate effectively with parents, players, staff, and administration to build a supportive golf community.
Coaching Duties:
- Plan, organize, and oversee all practices, matches, and tournaments.
- Provide instruction and feedback to develop players' skills, strategies, and mental preparation.
- Schedule and coordinate tee times for practices and competitions.
- Ensure compliance with league, school, and NFHS regulations.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Manage the golf program budget and maintain financial records, including submitting receipts for reimbursement.
- Coordinate with the Athletic Department to order and distribute equipment, uniforms, and other supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of player eligibility, attendance, and team performance.
- Submit required documentation for eligibility, scheduling, and competition results to the athletic office.
Player Development:
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all team members.
- Guide student-athletes on maintaining academic eligibility and balancing athletics with academics.
- Implement mental and physical preparation routines tailored to enhance individual and team performance.
Safety and Supervision:
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before practices, competitions, and transportation departures to supervise student-athletes.
- Ensure student-athletes adhere to safety protocols during all activities, including proper hydration and equipment usage.
- Monitor and inspect playing areas and equipment to ensure safe conditions.
- Supervise students until all are picked up or have left the facility safely.

QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience as a golf coach or equivalent role with demonstrated success in developing players.
- Comprehensive knowledge of golf techniques, strategies, and competition rules.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, and administrators.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for fostering student-athlete growth and passion for the sport.
- Experience in managing logistics for golf events and liaising with golf courses.
- Ability to mentor student-athletes to achieve personal, academic, and athletic goals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Our campus consists of multiple buildings on 44 hilly acres that requires frequent walking including uphill and stairs. The individual is required to talk and hear, often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee may be required to stand, walk, lift and carry approximately 10-15 pounds, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. Requires close vision.
MENTAL DEMANDS
On a daily basis, must frequently problem solve, make decisions, interpret data, organize, speak, write, plan, and clearly communicate.

- Practices and competitions primarily occur outdoors and may involve variable weather conditions.
- Travel to and from practice locations and tournament sites is required.
