Campaign Communications Manager

Department: Inst Adv - Administration (10)
Location: HONOLULU, HI

SALARY RANGE: $84,000 - $92,000 Annually

JOB SUMMARY

The Campaign Communications Manager serves in the key capacity of creating content for the promotion and continuous storytelling of the Campaign Priorities, inclusive of endowment, capital projects, and the emerging Center for Advancing Education through clear and concise marketing, branding, and communication initiatives. This position performs a wide range of duties and serves as the marketing communications lead for Mid-Pacific’s Comprehensive Campaign. The Campaign Communications Manager will ensure a proactive marketing communications strategy to advance the overall campaign, and serves as a member of the Communications Department as well as works in collaboration with the Director of Campus Planning and the Institutional Advancement Office. Planning and project management, integrated marketing communications, writing and content development, and collaboration are core to this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Campaign Communications Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serves as the marketing communications lead for Mid-Pacific’s Comprehensive Campaign and works collaboratively with the Director of Development, Senior Gifts Officers, Director of Campus Planning, Director of Alumni & Parent Engagement, and the Institutional Advancement team to develop and manage a proactive campaign communications plan.
  • Serves as senior writer/editor on the Institutional Advancement team and prepares a variety of high-level written communications for volunteers, donors, and prospects that include major donor stories, press releases, communication from campaign leaders, major donor and business proposals.
  • Manage productive working relationships with our creative team, both school staff and contracted vendors, to help ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develops and updates content on the campaign’s website and donor newsletter that include stories of impact, news of significant gifts, and other messages that reinforce campaign priorities and the Mid-Pacific brand.
  • Collaborates with Director of Alumni & Parent Engagement on alumni communications, updates content on the alumni portal, and alumni newsletter that include stories of impact, news of significant gifts, and other messages that reinforce Mid-Pacific and campaign priorities and the Mid-Pacific brand
  • Prepares and coordinates small and large group e-communications that range from segmented messages to specific individuals/groups of individuals to regular newsletters to all campaign volunteers.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Serves as a collegial and collaborative member of a small campaign team and a larger team, assisting with other campaign-related duties as assigned and as time permits.
  • Developing and implementing a strong social media program with an emphasis on strategic storytelling including curating images, photos, and videos to be used in advertising, social media, and other promotions related to fundraising.
  • Producing high-quality video content with the support of internal Mid-Pacific departments or contracted vendors.
  • Conceptualization and publication of digital and print marketing materials for new and existing. Working under the guidance of the Director of Marketing & Strategic Communications to manage media and public relations to meet the campaign priorities, with assistance from the school’s public relations agency (when applicable).
  • Liaising with other departments to provide story-driven content and materials and capitalizing on opportunities for inter-school and inter-department promotion.

QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BA, preferably in communications, marketing, advertising, journalism, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years experience in communications, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong writing, editing, publication design, interpersonal and organizational skills; keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Outstanding storytelling skills that are creative in nature and strategic in execution.
  • Knowledge of media relations and print production.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with web-based communication systems and databases.
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan, and implement a cohesive strategy for communications.
  • A thorough grasp of the current and emerging trends in digital and social media.
  • Capacity to manage details and broad overview while bringing multiple projects to fruition with grace, speed and flexibility.
  • Confidence with all google suite products
  • Ability to coordinate projects and share ideas in a manner that inspires and motivates others.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Our campus consists of multiple buildings on 44 hilly acres that requires frequent walking including uphill and stairs. The individual is required to talk and hear, often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel, and manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee may be required to stand, walk, lift and carry approximately 10-15 pounds, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Requires close vision.

MENTAL DEMANDS

On a daily basis must frequently problem solve, make decisions, interpret data, organize, speak, write, plan, and clearly communicate.
